Roots in Torrington - Coverage Across Connecticut

Wall, Wall & Frauenhofer has been serving the legal needs of Connecticut residents for over 100 years, making it one of the oldest law firms in Connecticut. Our commitment to our clients is founded on the model set by Attorney Thomas J. Wall, who founded the practice in 1906 in Torrington. Our practice areas include personal injury, criminal law, employment law, real estate, wills, trusts, and estate planning. Our recently opened Fairfield office allows us to more conveniently serve our client’s in Fairfield and New Haven Counties. Even though our roots are in Torrington and we continue to maintain the personalized service established by the firm’s founder Thomas J. Wall, our practice extends throughout Connecticut – from the shore to the Litchfield Hills.

Our History - The Birth of a Torrington Institution

our Founder - Thomas J. Wall

Thomas J. Wall was born in Torrington in 1879 and, following his graduation from Harvard Law School, established the firm in 1906 at an office on Main Street - we have only moved up the street since that time. Thomas J. Wall was a respected lawyer and was elevated to the positions of State’s Attorney and Connecticut Superior Court Judge. Thomas survived a murder attempt on March 18, 1925, when bootleggers threw dynamite at his home. He demonstrated his commitment to justice when he argued for leniency towards the perpetrators of his attempted murder, petitioning for their sentences to be reduced. He left this legacy of zealous advocacy, wisdom, and compassion, to his sons, Thomas F. Wall and Robert Wall – a tradition the firm carries on to this day.

Building on a Foundation

Thomas F. Wall was born in 1907 and Robert Wall was born in 1909, and the brothers continued their father’s practice of personal, trustworthy work for the citizens of Litchfield County. Thomas graduated from Harvard Law School and Robert graduated from Georgetown University and New York University Law School. Both held numerous prestigious positions, including Prosecutor, Judge, and Torrington City Attorney.

The Present and Future

The legacy of the firm was then passed onto Thomas F. Wall, Jr., who joined in 1964, following his graduation from Harvard Law School. Attorney David Frauenhofer then followed in 1967 and Christopher Wall in 1994. Russell A. Green recently joined the practice and the firm has opened an office in Fairfield. Although the firm’s clients come from across Connecticut and we have extended the reach and diversity of our practice, we remain firmly rooted in Torrington

The firm is committed to carrying on the legacy of those who came before us by maintaining the highest standards of personal representation, truly listening to our clients and putting their needs first.
